A2Dominion, lead developer of North West Bicester, the UK’s first eco-town, is proud to host its sixth annual Bicester Bike Day, taking place at Pingle Field, Bicester, on Saturday 8 July 2017.This free event, which has proven immensely popular with families and budding cyclists in Bicester, is anticipated to return this year bigger and better than ever before.
The event kicks off with the Tour de Bicester at 10am – an exhilarating treasure hunt for all the family throughout Bicester; residents can follow the clues and claim their own victory medal!
The main event runs from 11am to 2pm in Pingle Field (behind the Bicester Village shopping centre), with an exclusive showcase from the UK’s top professional extreme sports team. They will be demonstrating their acrobatic half pipe skills, spins and flips on BMX’s, scooters and skateboards with two shows at 12pm and 1pm. They will also be offering coaching workshops with hints and tips to aspiring tricksters in the audience.
There will be a range of free activities throughout the day including a ‘spin bike challenge’, ‘watt bike challenge’ the ‘slowest bike race’, ‘Brompton folding race’ and a ‘smoothie bike’ challenge.
Other free activities for the family include face-painting, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, giant bubbles, a view from a Heavy goods vehicle (HGV), penalty shootout and tandem space hopper races.
Thames Valley Police will be offering free bike security coding to all bike owners on the day, while Halfords and Bicester Green will be on hand for free bike maintenance.

The event is organised by North West Bicester developer, A2Dominion, working in partnership with Healthy Bicester, Cherwell District Council, BioRegional, Grassroots Bicester, Bicester Green, Team Extreme and We Are Cycling UK.
Entry is free and open to all. Cyclists who would like to take part in the Tour de Bicester family treasure hunt will need to arrive just before 10am to collect their route map.
